1. Tags

   • Set of characters that are recipes or directions for the visual content you see
   • Used to specify the document is HTML
   • Represents the root of the document

2. WWW

   • Stands for World Wide Web
   • Collection of websites
   • Stored in Hard drive
   • Allows documents to be connected to other documents by hyperlink
   • Uses numbers and letters to represent websites in codes
     • When you search something, the server requests the website number from DNS (like a telephone book)

3. Stands for Hypertext Markup Language

   • Used to interpret and compose text, images and other material in to visual or audible web pages.
   • With Javascript and CSS, it forms the cornerstone triad
   • Browers do not display HTML tags

4. CSS

   • Stands for Cascading Style Sheets
   • Used for describing the presentation of a document written in markup language like HTML.
   • Cornerstone of World Wide Web
   • Includes colours, layout and fonts

5. Heading and paragraphs

   • Six levels of headings (font size)- H1-6. H1 being the most important and H6 being the least
   • Browers automatically add margins either side of a heading
   • <p>This is a paragraph</p>
     • What a paragraph looks like
   • <h1>Heading 1</h1>
     • What a heading looks like

6. DNS

   • Domain Net Service
   • Where all websites are stored

7. layout

   • navbar
     • links to other pages
     • titles of the other pages
   • head
     • title of pages/website
     • bright and bold
   • body
     • where the main text is found
     • using paragraphs
