   • Sniffing
     • These are programs that are used to diagnose problems with a network. This can also be used to access unauthorised data.
   • Spoofing
     • Spoofing is where a computer pretends to be another computer. It does this by using fake credentials to try and trick the network to give the computer access.

2. Security Prevention Methods

   • Firewalls
     • Firewalls are used to monitor the network traffic and blocks any untrustworthy data packets. There are five different types of firewalls
       • Packet Filtering firewall
       • Circuit level gateway
       • Stateful Inspection Firewall
       • Proxy Firewall
       • Next-Generation Firewall
   • Encryption
     • Encryption turns plain text into unreadable data. This makes it hard to read and can only be decrypted using a key. There are different methods of encrypting.
       • VPN (Virtual Private Network)
       • SSL (Secure Socket Layer)
       • TLS (Transport Layer Security)
