   • A robot is a virtual or mechanical artificial entity. In practice, this is usually an electromechanical system that, by its appearance or its movements, offers the sensation of having its own purpose.

(Rossumovi Univerzální Roboti - Rossum's Universal Robots) by the Czech writer, Karel Čapek but it was Karel's brother Josef Čapek who was the word's true inventor.

   • Robotic labor machines can produce vastly higher quantities than humans, creating higher supplies of finished goods. The robots present manufacturers with a savings in costs as well, paying much fewer wages to humans and paying slightly higher overhead costs for electricity and machine upkeep.

Using multiple robots, architects can control movement, and coordination, as an alternative to design and programming, followed by fabrication and construction. Robots are ideal for real-time design and construction.
