   • Have hard disk drives and optical drives such as CD and DVD drives, as storage devices
   • Powerful processers
   • Good connectivity (USB, FireWire and HDMI)
   • Can have Bluetooth and Wi-Fi cards fitted for wireless communication
   • Easy to upgrade and enhance by adding extra functions

2. Laptop computers

   • Battery powered or can use an electricty supply
   • Monitor, pointing device and webcam built in.
   • Have hard disk drives and optical drives, such as CD and DVD drives, and slots for SD cards
   • Have Bluetooth and Wi-Fi built in
   • Good connectivity (USB, FireWire and HDMI)

3. Netbook computers

   • Strong and robust
   • Small and lighter weight
   • Boost up quickly because they have solid state SD cards as storage devices
   • Wi-Fi built in for Internet connections
   • Tend not to have hard disk or optical drives.

4. Tablet computers

   • Very light and portable
   • Battery powered
   • Touch screen interface
   • Virtual, on screen keyboard
   • Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and 3G for wireless communication
   • Cameras for still and moving images
   • Designed for playing media, Internet use and reading ebooks.
   • Can download or run apps on mobile phones
