1. DETECTOR DIODE

   • are specially designed to operate on very high frequency and low current devices

2. RECTIFIER DIODE

   • only conducts in forward bias and reverse bias does not perform

3. ZENER DIODE

   • They are characterized by allowing the flow of current inversely and by their ability to maintain a constant voltage at their terminals when they are polarized in reverse.

4. LIGHT EMITTING DIODE (LED)

   • converts electrical energy into light energy

5. STEP RECOVERY DIODE (SRD)

   • Charge storage diode, has the characteristic of storing the charge of the positive pulse and uses the negative pulse of the signals.

6. VARACTOR DIODE

   • It acts as a voltage controlled variable capacitor and its way of working is inversely

7. TRANSIENT VOLTAGE SUPPRESSION DIODE (TVS)

   • is an electronic device designed to deflect voltage spikes in a circuit to protect it

8. GUNN DIODE

   • When the voltage in the circuit increases, the current also increases, after a certain voltage level, the current will decrease exponentially

9. PHOTODIOD

   • When a beam of light of sufficient energy hits the diode, it excites an electron, gives it motion, and creates a positively charged hole.
