1. Clock Speed

   • the number of fetch decode execute cycles a cpu can perform per second. this is measured in hertz.
   • the higher the clock speed the more it can process per second
   • this results in faster clock speed and getting more done each second

2. Cores

   • the number of independent processors in the cpu which run the fetch decode execute cycle simultaneously
   • it can do more things at the same time
   • this means you can do more than 1 thing at once

3. cache

4. RAM

   • this results in having more storage and being able to store more things
   • the more rams you have the more things you can store
   • stores the programs, parts of the operating system and the files suddenly being used
