HARDWARE & SOFTWARE

1. HARDWARE

   • What is hardware?
     • Physical parts of a computer
       • important as it began the revolution of computers
   • Where did it begin?
     • Ancient times but became more improved with demand
       • Began to become important for complex calculations
   • What I learnt from studying hardware
     • Ever changing small improvements can make a huge difference
     • price of making components dropped
     • power is greater in these components
     • have multiple uses now then before
     • size of the components are now smaller

2. SOFTWARE

   • What is software?
     • programs and operating systems
   • where did it begin?
     • Ada Lovace writing program for Babbage
   • how did it evolve
     • during the war people taught of new programming skills

     • assembly language
       • Grace Hopper
       • versions of words
       • high level programming
     • machine code
