1. POOR SOIL MANAGEMENT CAN RESULT IN 3 PROBLEMS:

   • erosion
     • is a naturally occurring process that affects all landforms.
     • Running water is the leading cause of soil erosion, because water is abundant and has a lot of power.
     • Wind is also a leading cause of soil erosion because wind can pick up soil and blow it far away.
   • Nutrient depletion
     • Is a widespread soil degradation phenomenon that occurs as a consequence of soil erosion
     • also because of poor management practices, such as slash and burn and other subsistence agricultural
   • desertification
     • he process by which natural or human causes reduce the biological productivity of drylands (arid and semiarid lands)
     • Declines in productivity may be the result of climate change, deforestation, overgrazing, poverty, political instability, unsustainable irrigation practices, or combinations of these factors.

2. Soil management can be seen as an integral part of land management and focuses on the different soil types and characteristics that can enhance the soil quality
