   • It is used for describing the position of a point in a plain
   • Any point here is denoted by '(x,y) '
     • 'x' co-ordinate is known abscissa
     • 'y' co-ordinate is known as ordinate
   • developed by french mathematician

   • It is divided into 4 quadrents
     • Quadrant 'III' (-x,-y)
     • Quadrant 'II' (-x,y)
     • Quadrant 'I' (x,y)
     • Quadrant 'IV' (x,-y)

   • 2 perpendicular lines
     • Horizontal Line
     • Vertical Line

3. Fixed Point

   • Origin (0,0)
     • Moving left
       • Negative x axis (-x,0)
     • Moving Right
       • Positive x axis (x,0)
     • Moving Up
       • Positive y axis (0,y)
