   • Some media outlets covered the riots and looting rather than the more important peaceful protests that were happening at the same time. This took away from the social justice message that people were trying to get across.

2. PEACEMAKING CRIMINOLGY

   • This ties into BLM events because police departments knelt in solidatry in supported many peacful protestors during the protests of summer 2020. The police's goal before the prostests turned into riots was to use a non-violent approach to crime.

3. LEFT-REALIST CRIMINOLOGY

   • This connects into BLM events because the largest riots and protests happened in lower income urban areas. Lower income areas are often heavily policed which does not help the social problems in certain areas.
