WHAT IS OOP

  1. Object Oriented Programming (OOP) is a special form of programming, closer to expressing things in real life than other types of programming.

    • When programming object-oriented we have to learn to think how to solve problems in a different way than previously, in structured programming. Now we will have to write our programs in terms of classes, objects, properties, methods and other things that we will see quickly to clarify concepts and give a small base that allows us to loosen up a bit with the concepts of this type of programming.
      • In the simples snese, an Object can be very similar to a struct type such as those shown earlier in the book, containing members of a variable and function types. The variables contained make up the data store in the Object, and the fuctions contained allow Access to the object’s funcionality. Slightly more complex objects migh not maintrain any data; instead, They can represent a process by contraining only functions. For example, an Object representing a printer might be used, which would have function enabling control over a printer.
        • Method is the term used to refer to functions exposed by objects. These can be called in the same way as any other fuction and can use return values and parameters in the same way. Methods are used to provide Access to the object’2 funcionality. Like fields and properties, They can be public or private, restricting access to code as necesssary, They often make use of an object’s state to affect their operation, and have Access to private members, such as private fields. If required.

  3. METHODS

  4. attributes

    • The attributes or properties of objects are the characteristics that an object can have, such as color. If the object is Person, the attributes could be: ID, name, surname, sex, etc ...
      • The visibility directives allow restricting access to the attributes and methods of an object, the most restrictive directive is private, which only allows access to the attributes and methods from the unit in which the class is located, in return, we have the public and allows access from any method to the attributes specified as such.
        • Let's think of inheritance as a father and his daughter, it is the art of reusing codes, extending what has already been programmed to something that will also have the same, a copy and paste, when a class is used to create another this first class is called parent class while the class that has been created from the other is called child class, they can be the same classes but their attributes can be totally different, this is called code reuse; Although professionally the codes are not reused, when the child class is created from the parent class, the child class will have the base or default attributes of the parent class using the word extends so that the child class "inherits" the basic attributes of the parent class. parent class adding what separates the new attributes that the child class will have
