Introduction to programming

1. Program

   • Set of instructions on a programming language that a computer interprets to a perform a specific function
   • Accuracy, clarity, efficiency, and portability

2. Programming Languages

   • Types
     • C++, Rogic, Java, Python, Swift
   • Set of symbols, words and syntax rules that control the behavior of a computer

3. Phase 1:

   • Definition of the problem
     • The problem is defined and understood. In professional programming it implies understanding what the client needs.

4. Phase 2:

   • Analysis
     • Analyze point by point the presented problem, think about solutions, type of data to handle it and the relationship with everyday life situations. Input, process, and output

5. Phase 3:

   • Design
     • Develop of procedure to solve the problem. Algorithm and flow chart are designed and desktop test is carried out.

6. Phase 4:

   • Coding
     • The translation of the algorithm or flow chart into a programming language.

7. Phase 5:

   • Depuration
     • In this phase it is verified that the program has been coded correctly

8. Phase 6:

   • Implementation of program
     • The program is installed in the system to fulfill the tasks entrusted, it is tested and run several times, results are controlled, and its effectiveness is recorded.

9. Phase 7:

   • Maintenance of program
     • The program has to be periodically reviewed with the possibility of removing or adding instructions that, are adapted to the needs of the system.

10. Phase 8:

    • Documentation
      • It generates both the technical manuals and the user manual and help.
