1. Topic 1 - Computatinoal thinking

   • Decomposition and abstraction
     • Decomposition
       • Reduces a problem into sub-problems, the smaller parts are easier to understand and solve
     • Abstraction
       • Identifies essential elements that must be included in the computer modes of real life situations and discards inessential ones.
   • Flowcharts
     • Terminal shows the start and the end of a algorithem
     • Process shows data processing/calculating
     • Decision/Selection shows yes no ro true and false decisions where there are two possible outcomes
     • Line represents control passing between the other symbols
   • Trace tables
     • Trace tables have columns for each of the variables and input and out put values
       • Total
       • First number
       • Second number
       • Output
   • Linear search
     • This algorithm starts at the beginning of the list and moves through item until it finds the matching item or reaches the end of the list.
   • Arrays
     • An array is a data type that can store multiple items of data called elements which are all of the same data type under the same identifier.
