1. Data interface

   • how is data presented
     • within the Json file the start contains the amount of records found, and the confirmation of the request
       • after the start the Json file contains the Results of the search (all objects relevant to the search tags)
     • Data is shown in rows, with each result contained in a pair of curly brackets
     • Data is organized into tags that mark each data value , For example characters within the API has the people tag
       • This can be used by searching through the database though tags

2. data structures

   • results
     • when searching for actually people or objects results will have a properties sections that contains all the details for each object
       • When searching broadly json will only return the id of each character in the results section
   • arrays
     • arrays has multiple values marked by "" and separated by commas
       • eg. "crew": "342,953",
   • values
     • Values within jsons can be strings, integers, objects, boolean, or null
     • values a shown with a structure of a variable name then then its value eg (name: john)
   • organisation
     • Json files are organised in key value pairs where a name or id is defeined as a field for the identification of a stored piece of data
       • This can be used by a search algroithim to find specific values thats the user needs

3. Data specifications

   • data types - json can only as a select few data types
     • string
       • a written set of characters, eg: "the cat sat on the mat"
     • integer
       • a whole number eg: 100,200,23189
     • Json object
       • JSON object contains key/value pairs. eg: {"name":"Jeff", "age":2873, "car":horse}
     • array
       • A list of values that can be anything eg: [ cat, 12, true, 1000]
     • Boolean
       • a true or false statement eg: sick = true
     • null
       • way of showing nothing eg (name = null)
     • Json cannot be
       • a function
       • a date
       • undefined
