1. Issue with Baddeley’s 3-component model (!!)

   • working memory can hold more than would be expected based on just the phonological loop or visuospatial sketch pad.
     • working memory capacity can be increased by chunking
     • interchange of info between working and long-term memory.
   • SOLUTION
     • additional component
       • Episodic Buffer
         • stores info
           • provides extra capacity
         • connected to LTM
           • possibility of interchange between the 2
