1. Baddeley and Hitch 1974 said that STM is a dynamic system, actively processes info, has current attention.

2. The features of the WMM

   • Central Executive
     • decides which info in the senses should be dealt with
     • directs specific processing in slave systems
     • calls up info for LTM
     • merge info from slave system and LTM
   • Visuo Spatial Scratchpad
     • limited capacity
     • specialises in visual and spatial info
     • what items look like and physical r/ships between them
   • Articulatory Loop (inner voice)
     • holds verbal info in auditory code
     • silently repeats heard or seen words
