1. Present simple.

   • Uses.
     • 1. For permanent situations.
     • 2.For habits and routines with the adverbs: always, often, usually, sometimes, never.
     • 3.With the adverbs: every day, once a week, every year, four times a month, at the weekend.
     • 4. For facts and things that are generally true.
     • 5. For programs and timetables.
   • Affirmative
     • (subject+ verb+predicate)
     • Examples.
       • 1.Ann speaks German very well.
       • 3.My parents live in a very small flat.
       • 2.The swimming pool opens at 9 o’clock and closes at 6 p.m.
   • Negative.
     • subject + don´t/doesn´t + verb.
     • Examples.
       • She doesn´t play basketball on Mondays.
       • Peter doesn´t watchTV everyday.
       • They don´t go home on weekdays.
   • Interrogative.
     • Examples.
       • Do you watch t.v? Yes, I do
       • Do you and your friends play much sport? No we don´t
       • Does the place where you live have a shopping mall? Yes it does.

2. Present continuons.

   • Uses.
     • 1.For thinghs that are happening at the moment of speaking.
     • 2. For temporary situations, when we feel something won’t continue for a long time.
     • 3. With always and constantly to show our annoyance, anger and criticism.
     • 4. For definite future arrangements. We have already made a plan and we are sure that the event will happen in the future.
   • Affirmative.
     • (subject+ to be+ verb+ ing),
     • Examples.
       • I am reading.
       • You are dancing.
       • She is singing.
   • Negative.
     • (Subject + to be + not + verb + ing).
     • I am not reading.
     • You are not dancing.
     • She is not singing.
   • Interrogative.
     • (To be + subject+ verb+ ing+ ?)
     • Am I reading?
     • Are you dancing?
     • Is she singing?
