Paper 2 Help

Paper 2 Help

1. 2 characteristics that can improve the performance of the CPU

   • Cache type
   • Clock Speed
   • Why the cache size effects the performance of the CPU
     • Cache reduces the travel of data
     • Also the bigger the cache the more data it can stored
   • How many colours are shown by X amount of bits
     • X^2 = X colours

2. Compressing bitmap run length

   • 0000001111100000111000 = 6051503130
   • Sample resoloution depth
     • Number of bits per sample
   • Sample rates
     • Sammpling rate is a number of samples taken

3. Examples of secondary storage

   • Optical storage
   • Magnetic storage
   • Solid state storage
