email to an entire group without entering
everyone's individual email address
- Inbox folder: email you receive go into your email folder
- Reply: write a message back
to the sender
- Forward: you can forward an email to
another users email address
- Outbox: emails that are waiting
to be sent are stored here
- Cc: allows another
person to see an email
even if it isn't directly
sent to them
- Bc: allows you to send an email to
more than one person without the
receivers seeing each others email

- Signature: set to be attached to
an email automatically e.g.
Name, address, telephone
number etc

- Advantages of email: emails can arrive within seconds,, easy and
cheap method of communication, recipient doesn't, need to be
online when receiving emails, files can be attached, an email can
be sent to multiple users
- Disadvantages: physical objects can't be sent, spam
emails can be received, paper documents need to be
scanned before being sent, limit to the size of the email
and attachment, some legal processes don't accept
emails
- Security issues
- Inapprprivate language and attachments-email
monitoring detects abusive emails
- Cyber bullying-email parent control allows parents to
filter who their children send or receive emails from
- Sending spam-unwAted emails can be
stopped using a spam filter
- Attaching emails containing viruses-get up to date
virus software so viruses can be discovered and
removed early
