1. solid state

   • solid state is very durable, there for magnetic is a lot less durable because it has moving parts
   • solid state has much lower capacity there for magnetic is a lot bigger in capacity

2. magnetic

   • read/write speed is a lot slower then solid state there for solid state can load programs and files quicker
   • magnetic is cost effective because it has a lot more capacity

3. Optical storage

   • Optical storage is good because its very portible ,can be used in most devices and is water proof
   • optical storage is not cost effective its slow read/write speed and very small capacity
