                      2. PEPTIDE BONDS
                          1. Peptide bonds are the covalent carbon-to-nitrogen bond that links one amino acid with another amino acid in peptides and proteins, releasing a molecule of water. This is called Condensation reaction.
                              1. This is the reverse of the condensation reaction which is Hydrolysis reaction.
                            1. Oligopeptide (2-10) amino acids
                              1. Polypeptide (more than 10 amino acids)
                              2. Flat (planar) structure
                              3. Function
                                1. The building blocks of proteins
                                  1. Form parts of coenzymes

                                        1. Non-essential amino acids
                                          1. Amino acids that our body can make
                                          2. Essential amino acids
                                            1. Amino acids that our body can't make, so we can get them through our diet e.g fish and meat
                                            2. Conditionally Non-essential
                                              1. May needed more in times of growth, sick, pregnancy
