1. Secondary storage

   • Hard drives
   • USB
   • Disks

2. Primary storage

   • RAM and ROM are primary storage as they have direct access to the CPU
   • RAM (Random access Memory )
     • The place in the memory where all programs that are running and are in used are stored
       • Programs in use are stored in RAM as it allows the computer to quickly access them
         • this is because RAM is quicker to read and write from any other storage such as a hard disk
     • Volantile
       • All data will be lost if it hasnt been saved and power is lost
     • Expensive to produce compared to hard drives
   • ROM (Read only memory)
     • Place in memory where the boot up programs are stored
     • Non Volantile
       • Nothing is lost if the ROM loses power
