Types of attackers

1. Hacktivists

   • A hacktivist is someone who hacks for political reasons
   • They might want to highlight how a company or business is doing something they think is wrong.
   • Hacktavsts are still illeagal as they breach the computer misuse act

2. Cyber criminals

   • Cyber criminals want to steal banking information.
   • Cyber criminals may steal personal details In order to take out loans in your name.

3. Insider

   • An insider or disgruntled employee is someone that is unhappy with their job
   • If a network manager is upset about not getting a pay rise, he could hack into the payment system and give himself or herself a huge final pay-out.
   • Or they could hack the system to find out embarrassing information about the company.

4. Phishers

   • Phishers are scammers that try to trick people into handing over their personal information such as bank login details.
   • Spear-Phishing is when a scammer targets an individal

5. Vulnerability brookers

   • Paid by businesses to check for any vulnerabilities
   • Some vulnerability brokers may steal information if they aren't trusted businesses
