1. What are reptiles like?

   • They are terrestrisl vertebrates
   • They are ECTOTHERMIC
   • Their SKIN is THICK, without glands, covered with impermeable SCALES
   • They have four legs with 5 toes with claws
   • They breathe by LUNGS

2. VITAL FUNCTIONS

   • NUTRITION
     • They are carnivorous. A few are hervivores (tortoises, lizards and iguanas)
   • REPRODUCTION
     • They reproduce SEXUALLY
     • Most are oviparous and lay eggs with an impermeable shell
   • INTERACTION

3. TYPES

   • CHELONIANS (tortoises and turtles)
     • They have a CARAPACE (a shell wich covers their trunk)
     • Thay do not have TEETH
     • Thair mandible form a BEAK to cut their food
   • SQUAMATES (iguanas and snakes)
     • They have a FORK tongue
     • They regurlarly MOULT their layer of scales
     • They shed its tail to distract predators and escpe of them
     • Two GROUPS: SAURIANS (iguanas) and OPHIDIANS (snakes)
     • Ophidians (snakes) have long body, do not have legs and some have FANG with VENOM
   • COCODILIANS (cocdiles, caimans, alligators)
     • They have JAWS with strog TEETH
     • They have BIG scales
