   • Advantage
     • All of the information is in one place
   • Distadvantages
     • Keep typing out information

2. Relational Databases

   • Advantages
     • Easier to sort
     • More than one table to organise it
   • Disadvantages
     • There can be a lot of tables
   • Features
     • Information separated into discrete entities
       • E.G. Employees, product, order
       • Based on the real world
     • Entities are described by a series of fields

3. Local Databases

   • Examples
     • Finance office
     • Home computer
   • Information about it
     • Can only be accessed by one person.
     • No restrictions

4. Network Databases

   • Examples
     • School network
     • business place
   • Information about it
     • Must have a user name and password
     • Different access levels

5. Online Databases

   • Examples
     • A bank stores peoples balance.
     • An online shop will be able store what items have been sold and are selling.
   • Why are they used?
     • Store details and information using the internet. This requires an internet connection.
