4.1.4 Configuring JSP in web
-An app can use (JSP) to implement website. JSP is a defined servlet using static content (like HTML) mixed with Java code.
App Engine supports automatic compilations and URL mappings for JSPs. The JSP file in the WAR application (outside WEB-INF /) whose filename ends in .jsp sorted into the servlet class automatically, and mapped to the URL path corresponding to the path to the JSP file from the root of the WAR.
- For example, if an app has a JSP file named start.jsp in a subdirectory named register/ in its WAR, App Engine compiles it and maps it to the URL path /register/start.jsp.
- much control over how JSP maps to a URL, you can specify explicit mapping by declaring it with the <servlet> element in the placement descriptor.
- Instead of a element, you specify a element with the path to the JSP file from the WAR root. The element for the JSP can contain initialization parameters.
