1. A protocol is a set of rules that a computer needs to follow in order to communicate and share data.

2. A Lan covers a small geoghraphical area in a single site.

3. WAN is wide area network and covers a large geoghraphical area like the internet.

4. Client server is mangaed by a main server.

5. Peer to peer all devices have equal statues.

   • And they also have to update manually.

6. Star network is when all the devices are connected to one router.

   • There are other types of network to such as:
     • Bus
       • Straight line which causes some collisions
     • Ring
       • Servers going around in a ring
     • Bar
       • Straight line of servers.

7. A bus topology is when all the devices are connected to one line rod and if a bit of the cable gets broken all the devices will not work.

8. There are 5 different types of attack

   • Denial of service.
     • A hacker tries to stop users from accessing of a network or website.
       • Most DoS attacks involve flooding the network with useless traffic.
   • Passive
     • Where someone silently monitors data travelling on a network and intercepts any sensitive data
   • Active
   • Insider
   • Brute-force.

9. There are many different types of malware.

   • Deleting or Modifying files.
   • Scareware.
   • Ransomware (Locking Files)
   • Spyware
   • Rootkits.

10. Malware can also access your device in different ways.

    • Viruses
    • Worms
    • Trojans
      • Malware disguised as legitimate software.
        • Trojans don't self-replicate like viruses and worms
