   • DATA
     • SENSORY MEMORY
       • STM
         • LTM
           • Items move from STM to LTM through elaborative rehearsal.
             • LTM items are forgotten through interferance.
         • Items stay in STM through maintenance rehearsal.
           • In STM items are forgotten through displacement.

2. Encoding - STM = Acoustically

   • Encoding - LTM = Semantically

3. Capacity - STM = 7 +/- 2 items

   • Capacity - LTM = Unlimited

4. Duration - STM = 18-30 Seconds

   • Duration- LTM = Life Time

5. AO2 - GLANZER + CUNITZ

   • People remember items @ beginning + end BUT forget the middle items.

6. AO2 - CLIVE WEARING

   • Had access to LTM but STM wouldn't work. Suggests stores are seperate.

7. AO2 -MSM can't explain LTM that is not rehearsed.

   • EXAMPLE = Flashbulb memory.

8. AO2 -MSM is over simplified.
