   • A set of rules to base the decisions on.
     • It brings parts of the database together to answer the questions being asked.

   • How the questions and answers are presented to the user

   • NHS Symptom Checker
   • NEOMYCIN- Trains Doctors
   • MYCIN-Used to analyse blood test results

5. Advantantages

   • Cheaper to update
   • Always available
   • Can provide a second opinion
   • No human error's
   • People in remote area's can access it

6. Disadvantages

   • Lack of personal contact
   • Incorrect Data
   • Over reliance on the system
