1. Pattern Recognition

   • Definition- Identifying repeating elements to simplify a solution
   • -Repeat 3 times -Move forward (2) -Turn Left
   • Used to be able to spot repetition and follow instructions with loops

2. Algorithms

   • Flow Charts
     • Terminator
     • Process
     • Decision
   • Definition- A set of step-by-step instructions to solve a problem

3. Decomposition

   • Used to create a decomposition diagram for a problem
   • Definition- Breaking a problem down into smaller, more manageable problems

4. Abstraction

   • Definition- Removing unnecessary detail from a problem to create a simpler problem
   • Example- London underground map, diagrams, models.
   • Used to identify what aspects of a problem are necessary for the solution
