Parallel Lines
- If two lines in a plane do not intersect each other , they are called parallal lines .
If two parallel lines are cut by a transversal , then the :
- - pairs of corresponding angles are equal.
- - pairs of alternate angles are equal .
- - interior angles on the same side of the transversal are supplementry
- - pairs of alternate angles are equal .
- - pairs of corresponding angles are equal.
The lines are parallel if a transversal cuts a pair of the lines in such a way that :
- - the angles of any pair of corresponding angles are equal , or
- - the angles of any pair of alternate interior angles are equal , or
- - the angles of any pair of interior angles on the same side of the transversal are supplementry
- - the angles of any pair of alternate interior angles are equal , or
- - the angles of any pair of corresponding angles are equal , or
The distance between parallel lines does not change , it is the same everywhere.
Two lines in the same plane perpendicular to a given line are parallel to each other.
Lines , parallal to a given line in a plane to each other .
