Natural Resources
What it is?
- Natural resources are materials that are found in the planet Natural resources are elements of nature that help or contribute to well-being for the living beings

Types of Natural Resources
- Non-Renowable
- Non-renewable resources are those that cannot be replaced once they are destroyed. Examples include fossil fuels, Minerals
- Renewable
- Renewable resources are those that are regularly available (like water) or can be reasonably replaced or recovered, like vegetative lands.
- Non-Metaic resources
- Non-metallic minerals have no metals in them. They are softer and do not shine.
- For example: The clay or the coal
- Non-metallic minerals have no metals in them. They are softer and do not shine.
- Metalic resources
- Metallic minerals are those that have metals in them. They are harder, shiny, and can be melted to form new products.
- Iron
- Copper

Role of natural resources
- The role of natural resources is very important on earth and in our lives, since almost everything we have is thanks to natural resources, for example food is a natural resource and without that we could not live.
- Another role of natural resources is mobility, since it includes cars, trains, water boats, airplanes, along with all the fuel that drives them, in addition all constructions are thanks to natural resources, Think about all the energy for heating and cooling that we consume in our homes
Distribution of natural resources
- The distribution of natural resources is really important, as it helps countries obtain resources to continue living, although not everyone receives natural resources, for example some regions have lots of water (and access to the ocean and seas). Others have lots of minerals and forestlands. Others have metallic rocks, wildlife, fossil fuels, and so on.
- There are some that have more resources than others for example The US has the world’s largest coal reserves with 491 billion short tons accounting for 27% of the world total. Australia is the world's largest net exporter of coal, accounting for 29% of global coal exports.

Natural Resources Factsheet
- Did you know that People in rich countries consume up to 10 times more natural resources than those in the poorest countries.
- Did you know that Each person consumed only about 3kg of natural resources per day.
- Did you know that People in rich countries consume up to 10 times more natural resources than those in the poorest countries.
Threats to Natural Resources
- The overpolution:This is probably the single most important threat facing natural resources, since the overpopulation in the world is increasing every time, in the USA a baby is born every 8 seconds, and a person dies every 13 seconds.
Problems of natural resources
- One of the biggest problems is the need human to want more. Human demand of a comfortable life means more elements (communication, transportation, education, entertainment and recreation), which brings us to have to produce more. That means more industrial processes and more need for raw materials and natural resources.
Natural resources conservation
- The collaboration of the government is very important because if people do not understand that natural resources are very important, they have to take drastic measures, such as laws or if someone does not take care of natural resources, they will receive a fine or something.
- Education for society is very important because if people do not know the importance of natural resources they will not take care of the resources since they do not have the culture of caring for resources.
Resource recovery
- It involves composting and recycling of materials that are heading to the landfill. Here is an example: Wet organic waste such as food and agricultural waste is considered waste after food consumption or after an agricultural activity. Traditionally, we collect them and send them to a landfill. In Resource Recovery, we collect and divert to composting or anaerobic digestion to produce biomethane. We can also recover nutrients through regulator-approved use of residuals.
- In order to make this a much faster process, there are different cans with different colors, which help us to separate all the waste, plastics, etc. The role: Blue Metals: Red Others: Gray Glass: Green Plastic: Yellow.
