1. CARTESIAN SYSTEM

   • Cartesian System in a plane is a coordinate system that specifies each point uniquely by a pair of numerical coordinates.

       • A Cartesian Plane is defined bye two perpendicular number lines, the X-Axis which is Horizontal and Y-Axis which is Vertical.

         • How to locate (3,6) in Cartesian Plane?
           • The coordinates of the point (3,6) tell us that the distance of this point.
             • From the Y-Axis along the positive X-Axis is 3 units.
               • From the X-Axis along the positive Y-Axis is 6 units.
                 • From origin 0 we count 3 units and mark A on X-Axis.
                   • From origin 0 we count 6 units and mark B on Y-Axis.
                     • Now Join the two lines and the intersection point is P(3,6).
