Multiple intelligences
Howard Gardner's research has managed to identify and define up to eight different types of intelligence. We are going to know in more detail each of the intelligences proposed by Gardner's Theory of Multiple Intelligences below.
- Linguistic intelligence
- The ability to master the language and be able to communicate with others is transversal to all cultures.
- Linguistic intelligence not only refers to the ability for oral communication, but to other ways of communicating such as writing, gestures, etc.
- Activities to be applied in class.
- .• Reading comprehension strategies • Reading corners.
- Read a text or a story aloud. • Make up a story or a story. • Investigate in depth on the subject, collecting, analyzing, selecting and summarizing the information. • Write a text in another language.

- Logical-mathematical intelligence
- As its name suggests, this type of intelligence is linked to the ability for logical reasoning and mathematical problem solving.
- Scientists, economists, academics, engineers, and mathematicians often excel at this kind of intelligence.
- Activities to be applied in class.
- • Look to give logical thinkers the clearest explanation possible. • Find careers as scientists’ mathematicians and detectives. • brainstorming • disscussion panel.

- Spatial intelligence
- People who excel in this type of intelligence usually have capacities that allow them to devise mental images, draw and detect details, as well as a personal sense for aesthetics.
- In this intelligence we find painters, photographers, designers, publicists, architects, creatives.
- Activities to be applied in class.
- • posing and solving problems • thinking stills
- The way you can apply to spatial intelligence is as follows, such as lectures in English in visual audios, digital projector that allows to receive a video signal and also projects images that can help in a more understandable way, and thus display still images and moving.

- Musical intelligence
- All cultures have some kind of music, more or less elaborate, which leads Gardner and his collaborators to understand that there is a latent musical intelligence in all people.
- Some areas of the brain carry out functions related to the interpretation and composition of music. Like any other type of intelligence, it can be trained and perfected.
- Activities to be applied in class.
- • Auditory learners make the most of sounds, rhymes, jingles, and music. • The emotional connection to sound and music leads to better comprehension. • Work as sound engineers’ musicians, y songwriting.Writing new lyrics, everything in English.

Naturalistic intelligence
- Naturalistic intelligence makes it possible to detect, differentiate and categorize aspects related to the environment, such as animal and plant species or phenomena related to climate, geography or natural phenomena.
- It should be noted that although for Gardner this type of intelligence was developed to facilitate the creative use of the resources that nature offers us.
- Activities to be applied in class
- In this case we can interact with the environment and socialize more, having conversations in English and helping each other. •Question method.
Bodily and kinesthetic intelligence
- Dancers, actors, athletes, and even surgeons and creators are especially brilliant in this type of intelligence.
- The physical and motor skills required to handle tools or to express certain emotions represent an essential aspect in the development of all cultures in history.
- Activities to be applied in class.
- • Careers in sports, construction, and labor. • Hands on learning methods, using manipulatives and different projects. • Give students the opportunity to walk around and stretch provide class activities.• discussion table • brainstorming • disscussion panel.
Interpersonal intelligence
- Interpersonal intelligence empowers us to be able to notice things about other people beyond what our senses manage to capture.
- Teachers, psychologists, therapists, lawyers and pedagogues are profiles that usually score very high in this type of intelligence described in the Theory of Multiple Intelligences.
- Activities to be applied in class.
- • Develop small study group, and peer to peer tutoring sessions • Present opportunities for students to work and learn from groups of others.
- • Group work • Peer teaching • Board games • Communication.
Intrapersonal intelligence
- Intrapersonal intelligence refers to that intelligence that enables us to understand and control the internal environment of oneself with regard to the regulation of emotions and attention focus.
- People who excel in intrapersonal intelligence are able to access their feelings and emotions and reflect on these elements.
- Activities to be applied in class.
- • Allow these students set goals y tasks for themselves, as well as choose their topics. • Find ways to allow these students to study quietly and free of distractions.
