1. INTRODUCTION

   • The tourist sector plays an integral role in the state´s extensive economic growth. The Jordanian Tourist Police Department helps the tourists in different ways. Lingua Franca for communication between Police and Tourists is English. Researchers in the field of ESP point out the significance of teaching/learning English.
   • Needs analysis
     • It is one of the key factors and an integral part of ESP. It helps to collect information to be used in the syllabus design. Show English is used to carry out a conversation,  give information, provide service, offer help, answers questions, and solve problems.

     • Communicative and linguistic competence developments are the prerequisites for those who work in the sector of the tourism industry.

     • The hospitality industry is one of the most economic sectors. English for this industry is the most important issue in the field of EOP.

     • *  English Language skills are the most important for tourism police in their work. * Solve problems, in general, that police encounter in their workplace. * Solve problems that police encounter in English Language skils.

2. REVIEW OF LITERATURE AND RELATED STUDIES

   • Some studies support this project because English is a Lingua Franca in the international tourism industry. For example: * Pachanan (2012) Speaking is the most important skill. * Lin, Wu y Huang (2013) Taiwanese are focused on the spoken task, comprehension, interactive strategies, and writing tasks. * Al-Khatib (2005) the usefulness of ESP in enhancing the communication process. * Coskun (2009) L&S are the most needed skills at work. * Khamkaew's (2009) Problems were producing simple expressions, English vowels, use complete sentences.

3. METHODOLOGY

     • All tourist police serving in northern and middle Jordanian tourist attractions.

     • 46 on the job tourist police in Jordan.

4. FINDINGS AND DISCUSSION

5. CONCLUSION AND PEDAGOGICAL IMPLICATIONS

   • The results revealed Tourist police encountered serious problems in the English language where they work.  Jordan has experienced a growth in tourism so the tourist police command and stakeholders should develop ESP training programs pro tourist police in English communication.

6. PEDAGOGICAL IMPLICATIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS

   •    1.- ESP - English for tourism for troops before they are enlisted. 2.- Problems in listening and speaking were detected. 3.- Incentives should be offered for developing communication skills. 4.- Replica studies could be conducted. 5.- Further study should be implemented with other fields(medicine, banking, media, and business).
