Triangles

1. Triangles are 2 Dimensional figures, lying on a plane, which have 3 sides, 3 angles and 3 vertices.

   • Congruence of Triangles -
     • Two or more figures are called congruent, if they have the same shape and size.
     • Rules for congruence of triangles are -
   • Some properties of a Triangle -
     • Angles opposite to equal sides of an isosceles triangle are equal.
       • If we are given that, in triangle ABC, sides AB and AC are equal, we can say that angle B is equal to angle C.
     • The sides opposite to equal angles of a triangle are equal.
       • This is the converse of the earlier property, where, when given that angles B and C are equal, we can say that sides AB and AC are equal.
