   • Definition: Breaking down a problem into smaller, more manageable problems

2. algorithm

   • definition: A set of step-by-step instructions to solve a problem
   • flowcharts
     • this is the shape of a terminator
     • this is the shape of a process
       • it will have one arrow going in and one going out it show what happened
     • this is the shape of a choice

3. abstraction

   • Definition: Removing unnecessary detail from a problem to create a simpler problem
   • Examples: London Underground map, diagrams, models.
