       • Pro & Con
         • Benefit: cure disease or improve your body's ability to fight disease.
         • Disadvantage:poses a number of risks.
     • Genetic Modification (GMO)
       • Process of alterning the genetic make up of an organism to improve desired traits
       • Pro & Con
         • Benefit: Increased supply of food with reduced cost and longer shelf life.
         • Disadvantage: they may cause allergic reactions because of their altered DNA and they may increase antibiotic resistance.
     • Selective Breeding
       • Intentional mating of 2 organisms to produce offspring with desired traits
       • Pro & Con
         • Benefit: elite offspring with desired traits.
         • Disadvantage: Decrease in genetic variation

2. Natural Selection

   • determines if a mutation is benifital
     • Mutation
       • is a errors in DNA neither good or bad
   • Adaptation
     • Adaptations are characteristics that help an organism survive in an environment.
   • • a giraffe is a great example because natural selection caused the giraffes necks to be longer in order to reach the taller trees
   • 3 things must be present for natural selection
     • 1 struggle for existence, 2 variation and 3 inheritance
