Structure Architecture

1. The CPU

   • Fetch decode execute
     • The address is generated by the program counter and carried to the MAR using the address bus. The program counter updates and stores the next memory address
       • The data or instruction that is in that memor

2. Registers

   • Memory Address Register (MAR)
     • Stores the memory location of data that needs to be accessed
   • Control Unit (CU)
   • Memory Data Register (MDR)
     • Stores the data that is being transferred to and from memory
   • Arithmetic/Logic Unit (ALU)
     • Carries out all calculations
     • Makes decisions on the data sent to the processor
   • Program Counter (PC)
     • Stores the Address of the next instruction
   • Accumulator (AC)
     • Stores the results from calculations

3. Performance of the CPU

   • Clock Speed
   • Cache
   • Cores
