Acquisition and Retrieval

1. Learning as preparation

   • connections
     • retrieval paths
   • context dependent learning

       • test while on land
       • test while in water
   • approach to memory materials
     • context reinstatment
       • gum example
         • chew gum during studying
         • chew gum during test
         • retrieval cue (gum)

2. Encoding Specificity

         • activation level
           • response threshold
           • subthreshhold activation
   • hints
     • hints
       • retrieval cues
         • capitol example

4. memory testing
