1. Defensive Design

   • Protection against unexpected user inputs: Accidental Key presses
     • Maintainability: Ensuring code is readable and understandable
       • Minimising / Removing Bugs: Testing and Optimisation
         • Testing is required to ensure that a developed programs function as it was designed and meets the needs of the end user. Various testing stratergies are used to ensure that these issues are eradicated. enabling the programs to meet the needs of the end user
           • Iterative Testing: Testing should be ongoing throughout development
           • Final Testing: Testing the program as a whole at the end of development
       • Code is writted in such a way that when other programmers are asked to develop the code they can make a full sense of it, therefore reducing the chance of introducing coding mistake/bugs.
