PRINCIPLES OF ART

1. Variety

   • Variety of elements to create visual effects.
     • Variety adds interest and breaks with the regular repetitions.

2. Emphasis

   • Reforcing the main element that the autor wants the viewer to notice the most.
     • They are areas of interest inside the artwork.

3. Proportion

   • Relationship between sizes
     • Scales of sizes in differents parts of the artwork.

4. Gradation

   • Addition of interest and movement to an element
     • From dark to light; from warm to cool; etc...

5. Harmony

   • Logical relationship between elements.
     • All elements work together to look complete.

6. Rythm

   • Create harmony,interest and movement.
     • They can be random, regular, progressive, etc...

7. Balance

   • The distribution of all the elements in one work.
     • So that all the attention don't concentrates in only one spot.

8. Movement

   • Sense of movement and speed.
     • Take the viewer through a path inside the artwork.
