1. Men and Women

   • Jesus treated both equally
   • Men and Women created in God's image-Genesis
   • Women first to see that Jesus was born
   • Many churches now have women priests-Anglican. Roman Catholics and orthodox do not allow this as there were only 12 men disciples
   • Men and women are equal in Allah's eyes
   • Have the same religious duty and the same judgement
   • Women have certain rights and protection
     • Mahram and Husbands
   • Certain clothing for women in order to be modest and be protected from evil sights of men

2. Racism

   • Islam is against racism, prejudice and discrimination
   • Bilal (ra) was the first mu'azzin - the person who calls out the adhaan
     • Black Abyssinian/Ethiopian man
   • Pilgrimage: Everyone in Ihraam shows equality
   • Qu'ran is against it.
   • Everyone is an Ummah so we should be working together and not being racist as we all are humans and the same
   • God made everyone in his image
   • All humans are equal
   • jesus mixed with all people whether they were poor, outcast and even lepers
   • Christians should love one another
   • Good Samaritan
   • There is no Greek no Jew, free or slave

4. Charity

   • Zakah 2.5% of charity given by people who have a certain amount of wealth every lunar year
     • One of the pillars of islam
   • One can be wealthy but should not have greed for wealth-Charity is a solution to this.
   • Money should be used wisely and not to harm others
   • Should be earned in a halal way not haram eg.gambling and taking interest
   • Being rich is not important
   • True generosity is sacrificing for others eg. giving to the poor
   • Follow jesus who gave to the poor.
   • Don't be greedy and look down on those who are less fortunate than you
   • Love of money is root to all evil
