1. Single transformations

   • Enlargements
     • Scale factors
       • Scale factor of 2
         • The area of the shape and each individual side is enlarged by a scale factor of 2
   • Reflections
     • Shape reflected on a line of symmetry on the graph
   • Rotations
     • Rotations are in degrees
       • Could be 90 degrees...
         • Clockwise!
           • OR...
             • Anticlockwise!

2. Translations

   • If we translate an object we can...
     • Move it up or down
     • Move it from side to side
   • But we can not...
     • Change its direction
     • Change its shape
     • Change its size
   • These are not:
     • Reflections
     • Enlargements
     • Rotations
   • Example:
     • (4,2)
       • This would mean that the shape on the grid has moved:
         • 4 squares to the right and 2 squares on the grid up
