1. Critical Chain Method

   • Takes into account both activity and resource dependencies. Uses a network diagram and critical path to develop a schedule by assigningeach activity to occur as late as possible to still meet the end date.

2. Critical Path Method

   • The Critical Path involves determining the LONGEST PATH through the network diagram

3. Schedule Compression

   • Fastracking
     • Taking critical path activities and doing in PARALLEL. Usually increases RISK.
   • Crashing
     • ADDING or adjusting RESOURCES in order to compress the schedule while maintaining the original project scope. Always results in increased COSTS

4. Resource Optimization

   • Resource Leveling
     • Leveling lengthens the schedule and increases costs in order to deal with a limited amount of resources and resources availability. This technique allows you to level the peaks of the schedulefrom one month to another
   • Resource Smoothing
     • The resources are leveled only within the limits of the float of their activities, so the completions dates of activities are not delayed.

5. Modeling

   • Monte Carlo Analysis
     • This technique uses computer software to simulate the outcome of a project, bassed on the three points estimates (optimistic, pessimistic, ans most likely)
