THE CRUCIBLE
  1. JOHN PROCTOR - He is a farmer and the main protagonist in the play. Proctor is an good and honest man, except for one flaw which is that he commited adultery. He is very conscious about his reputation and name in the village of Salem.
    1. Husband and wife
      1. Abigail committed adultery with john, and is driven by her lust for him
          1. ELIZABETH PROCTOR - She is a good and honest woman and loved John, but most of the time "was Cold " towards him, which in turn caused John to commit adultery with Abigail
              1. Despise each other
                1. Danforth subjects John and Elizabeth as witches and sentence them to death
                2. ABIGAIL WILLIAMS - She is an orphan and the niece of Parris. She is the main antagonist of the play and is the main source of the Salem Witch Hunt. Abigail is driven by her lust for Proctor and her jealousy towards Elizebeth
                      1. Abigail is the niece of Parris
                      2. REVEREND PARRIS - The minister of Salem's church. He is greedy, selfish and power hungry. Disliked by a majority of the Salem townsfolk
                          1. Parris calls Reverend Hale to examine his daughter Betty
                          2. REVEREND JOHN HALE - He is a minister who is reputed for his witch hunting. Towards the end of the play, he regrets all his actions and tries to prove that all the accused are innocent
                              1. Hale believes in Proctor and sides with him, realising that the girls are all lying.
                                1. Hale continuously attempts to convince Danforth that the girls are lying and that the accused are innocent
                                2. JUDGE DANFORTH - The deputy governor of Massachusetts. He judges the Salem Wtich trials . Danforth is convinced that he is doing the right thing in locating witches
                                      1. Rebecca Nurse - An old but wise woman who has a great reputation in Salem. She refuses to admit to being a witch and holds true to her values even though she is sentenced to death
                                        1. Danforth accuses Rebecca of witchcraft towards the Putnams and sentences her to death
                                          1. Thomas and Ann Putnam accuse Rebecca Nurse of witchcraft
                                          2. THOMAS PUTNAM - A wealthy citizen of Salem. He holds a grudge against Francis Nurse. Takes advantage of the trials and accuses innocent people , and then buys up their land
