Parabola

1. Is a curve where any point is at equal distance from a fixed point (the focus) and a fixed straight line (the directrix)

2. The vertex is where the parabola makes its sharpest turn and it is halfway between the the focus and the directix

3. The axis of symmetry goes through the focus, at right angles to the directrix.

4. The equation to get a parabola is: y=ax^2+bx+c
