1. S - Serial Number

   • This is unique to everything. If something is lost or stolen then the police can trace the serial number to find what is missing.

2. A - Alarms

   • Use things such a burglar alarms so that if someone does break in and attempt to take any computer kit, someone will be alerted and the burglar can be stopped.

3. D - Doors

   • If there is no doors that you can lock, you can’t secure what is in the room. It doesn’t protect the equipment from anyone who can break in and steal anything.

4. F - Fire Protection

   • Purchase specialist fire extinguishers such as powder or gas extinguishers that don’t fully break the computer if there is a fire and it is needed to put out the equipment.

5. L - Lock

   • Make sure all doors and windows are locked. It ensures the same protection as doors and lowers the risk of any computer equipment being stolen or damaged.

   • Blocks out any view into a room that may have expensive kit in the room. If someone happens to walk past and see inside, it may lead to the kit being taken.
