Analogy of Attribution

Humans can talk meaningfully about God because there is a casual relationship between humans understand of concepts like love or goodness and the understanding of these concepts in the mind of God

Aqunies used the example of a Bull’s urine

If the urine of an bull is healthy we can infer that the bull from which it came from is healthy

Aquinas calls God the ‘creator’ he can say w/ confidence that God has created everything and revealed himself through his creation

This enables us to understand what God is like and the relationship he has with us

Religious believers can use terms like good in the knowledge that their understanding of these terms relates in a meaningful way,to God's nature

The analogy is NOT perfect

God is not human,so the analogy is not 100% perfect, but provides some understanding that creates a connection between humans and God
