how multicast works:

Step 1: server will create one stream. this stream will go to multicast GDA - group destination address

Step 2: employee will have an application to listen to stream:

- layer 2: ethernet will check destination MAC address, if it is unicast or broadbast: NIC will pick it up and send to CPU

when clicking to applications:

- layer 2 is also listening to multicast address.

step 3) employee will send IGMP to default gateway

step 4) default gateway invokes multicast routing protocol:PIM

1) reserved IOUs for multicast:

for ipv4= MAC will be 0100:5eXX:XXXX

for ipv6=3333:XXXX:XXXX
